Saint John, NB, Canada 8/29/10- The first weekend in September means only one thing for Lonnie Sommerville; its Auto Value 250 time at his home track of Speedway 660 in Geary, NB. Just as last season the Lonnie Sommerville Racing team will field a second car for part time NASCAR competitor Travis Kittleson, but this season the added stress of a second child could also fall on the first week of September.
“We’ve been real busy at the shop getting all three of our cars ready plus getting all of our LSR customers in tip top shape for the biggest racing weekend of the year. We take pride in having good cars year around but Auto Value 250 weekend is really a weekend we expect to shine,” stated the only two time event winner Sommerville. “Now with the baby past its due date (8/21) it has really thrown things into a frenzy around the house and the shop lately. The decision to race has already been made but I’m hoping things will all fall into place and we can celebrate both a win and a new baby.”
Last season Sommerville made history by becoming the first
ever two time winner of the Auto Value 250 after first winning the event in
2006. If Sommerville were to win again in 2010 he will once again make history
by becoming the first ever back-to-back winner of the 250 lap event. Sommerville
has already recorded a victory earlier this season at
